It was a rare loss for the White River High girls tennis team Thursday as the Hornets dropped a 3-2 contest to Fife.

Kelli Hoffman won a tough 6-3, 7-5 contest at No. 2 doubles, while Riley Burleigh and Annie Shindle went three sets with their Trojan opponents, finally taking the last two sets 6-4, 6-4.

The Hornets are now 8-3.
