Standout gymnast Erin McGinnes won all four events and took all-around honors during a five-team meet last week.
The senior from White River High scored 8.6 in the vault, 8.4 in bars, 9.5 on the beam and 9.3 in the floor exercise. Her total clearly topped her nearest competition, Kennedy Catholic’s Payton Hayes and Emily Tran from Thomas Jefferson.
Because White River does not offer gymnastics, McGinnes – a veteran of the state meet – turns out and travels with the Enumclaw High squad but scores for her own school.
Enumclaw High gymnasts who cracked the top eight were: Ashley Dicherson, fourth in the vault, fifth in floor exercise, sixth in bars; Katie Hardman, fourth in floor exercise, fifth in the vault, sixth on beam.
Final team scoring showed Thomas Jefferson on top with 147.70. The Raiders wee followed by Kennedy Catholic, 119.10; Enumclaw, 77.45; and Kent-Meridian, 65.40. McGinnes, as a one-person team, totaled 35.80.
