The Bonney Lake baseball team played Emerald Ridge at home Thursday and lost 8-4.
The game began with a 1-1 tie in the first inning, and the Panthers built a lead with a run in the third inning and two more in the fifth, while the Jaguars batted in nothing.
Then the sixth inning turned everything on its head. The Jaguars earned seven runs, giving them their final lead over the Panthers.
Bonney Lake’s Michael Gretler connected with the ball twice in three times at bat, making one home run and achieving a 2-RBI.
The Panthers played Timberline High School Friday on Timberline’s home field. They are scheduled to play Hudson’s Bay High School at home Saturday. The regular South Puget Sound League 3A season begins March 21 with an away game against Peninsula.
