Friday, the daughter of Harbor the Gold drew clear for a 5 ¼ -length victory over See My Tail Lites in the $14,800 South King County Bar Association Purse for 3-year-old fillies.

Friday, the daughter of Harbor the Gold drew clear for a 5 ¼ -length victory over See My Tail Lites in the $14,800 South King County Bar Association Purse for 3-year-old fillies.

Ridden by Gallyn Mitchell, Point Da Harbor ran six furlongs in 1:09.73 and paid $7.60, $4.20 and $2.60.

Point Da Harbor improved to three-for-three in 2014, and is one of only six horses with at least three wins at the meet. Friday was Point Da Harbor’s first race for trainer Blaine Wright and owners Seamist Racing, who claimed the filly for $10,000 in her previous start May 25.

A Washington-bred that sold for $4,700 at the 2012 WTBOA September Yearling Sale, Point Da Harbor is 4-0-2 in eight starts overall with earnings of $26,328.

See My Tail Lites, ridden by Eliska Kubinova, held second place and paid $5.60 and $2.20. The Matty G filly set fractions of :22.24 and 45.20 before relinquishing command into the lane.

Forever a Fan, ridden by Leslie Mawing, finished third and paid $2.40 to show. The 8-to-5 betting favorite, Forever a Fan broke poorly and never reached serious contention for the win. KK’s Wonderman, Knight Club and Seadrifter completed the order of finish.

NOTES: Mitchell rode two winners and increased his all-time track record total to 1,365 wins. He has 17 wins in 79 mounts at the meet, a nifty 21.5 win percentage. . .Anne Sanguinetti also rode two winners*both aboard Jeff Metz horses*and is 34-for-165 the last two seasons when riding for Metz. . .With two more wins, Metz opened a 31-17 lead over Frank Lucarelli atop the trainers’ standings. . .In Friday’s fifth race, Rainier Ice ($5.20) erupted for a 6 ¾-length victory in a brisk 1:14.36 for 6 ½ furlongs. Trained by Doris Harwood for Santa Maria Stable and ridden by Mitchell, the 6-year-old Forestry gelding has a 6-for-15 record at Emerald Downs, and also lost a victory when disqualified and placed fourth in the 2011 Coca-Cola Handicap. . .Harwood, who sends out four horses Sunday in the $50,000 Coca-Cola Handicap, is seven wins away from becoming only the fourth trainer with 500 wins at Emerald Downs. . .
