In a quad-team meet, the Bonney Lake Panthers faced two of their South Puget Sound League 3A foes Thursday in Parkland.

The Panther boys and girls squads competed against Enumclaw and Franklin Pierce, along with the Class 2A Washington Patriots.

“We didn’t keep score because it was an add-on meet,” coach Andy Foster said. “We looked very respectable against the other teams there.”

Eric Schroeder and Cale Snider ran 23.3 seconds and 23.7, respectively, in the 200-meter dash.

Schroeder cleared 5 feet, 4 inches in the high jump.

Brandon Baumchem ran a 2:05.2 in the 800 and posted a 4:37 mark in the 1,600, while Cory Richardson had a 10:49.9 in the 3,200 run.

Ben Hanson was second in the 110 and 300 hurdles, behind Enumclaw’s Abe Kellogg. Hanson ran a 19.85 in the 110 and 47.6 in the 300.

Bobby Nix had a throw of 43-9 in the shot put and 77-7 in the discus. Derek Nasawang has a toss of 95-8 in the discus and Robert McMurtray’s mark was 94-11.

McMurtray also tossed the javelin 100-1 and, in the pole vault, Sean Smith cleared 10-0.

The Panthers’ next meet is today, Wednesday, at home against North Thurston.

Lady Panthers

The Bonney Lake High girls joined Class 3A South Puget Sound League rivals Enumclaw and Franklin Pierce, along with the Class 2A Washington Patriots, in a four-team meet in Parkland Thursday.

The Panthers’ Theresa Edwards was more than a minute ahead of her closest competitor in the 3,200-meter run. The senior finished with a time of 11 minutes, 57.9 seconds.

Natosha Lyonais had a throw of 34 feet, 6 inches in the shot put, then tossed the discus 68-10. Kaitlin Mitton toss in the discus was 79-7, the best mark for the Panthers, and also threw the javelin 77-4.

Sandra Meyer jumped 15-6 in the long jump, Kimber Kober went 29-9 in the triple jump and Haylie Cannon cleared 4-8 in the high jump.
