At the last minute, White River High sent seven Hornet wrestlers to the Mount Rainier tournament in Des Moines Saturday and placed six in the top four.

According to coach Joe Klein, the Lady Hornets were scheduled to attend the tournament at Jackson High, but found out Friday night it was cancelled. He moved quickly to get the girls into the Rams’ tournament where they saw success.

Mikaela Kilcup was the Hornets’ top place winner with a second-place finish. Samantha Lovelace and Ashley Orr placed third, while Jesslyn Blue, Kandi Kujawa and Jaileane Summers were fourth-place finishers.

Danielle Garner earned a sixth-place finish for the Hornets.

The ladies are scheduled to head to Elma Friday for another tournament.
