The Spartans’ lady golfers are a team largely made up of athletes taking their first steps on the green. Though outmatched in these early days, each game they steadily improve.

“They are working hard every day toward being a competitive team by season’s end,” Coach Shane Patrick said. “We had a very positive week last week even though we lost all three matches. Our point totals improved every match.”

The team earned 14 points against Steilacoom Tuesday Sept. 13, 24 in nonleague play against Bonney Lake Wednesday, and 31 against White River Thursday. They lost each match.

The Spartans face Fife High School today, Sept. 20, at 3:15 p.m.
