Still smarting a bit from the 60-17 schooling it received at the hands of district nemesis Bonney Lake, the Sumner High wrestling contingent will host Franklin Pierce at 7 tonight, Wednesday.
Coach Jeremy Horsley said his troops were not discouraged after losing their first tandem of league matches by some astronomical margins.
“They realize that success is not going to come to them right away,” Horsley said. “This is one of the best groups I’ve ever coached because they are very inexperienced with the exception of a handful of kids that returned this season, but they are also very eager to learn. They are like a bunch of little sponges absorbing the knowledge and doing a little better fundamentally with each practice.”
