The Sumner High girls were third and the Bonney Lake team was fourth Jan. 5 during prep gymnastics action at Rogers High on Puyallup’s South Hill.

The Spartans finished with 134.95 team points and the Panthers tallied 131.45, each trailing the first-place Enumclaw Hornets and the host Rams.

Bonney Lake’s Kelsey Wells-Henderson finished No. 3 in the all-around, placing third in the vault with a score of 8.1, fifth in the bars, 6.5, seventh on the balance beam, 7.6, and 10th in the floor exercise, 7.5.

A step behind, at No. 4 all-around, was Sumner High’s Aja Ruswick. She was fourth in the floor exercise, 8.15, eighth on the beam, 7.5, and ninth in both the vault, 7.7, and bars, 5.8.

Also placing the top 10 all-around were Sumner’s Dayna Devereaux, sixth, and Sierra Tinsley, 10th. Devereaux was fifth in the vault, seventh in the bars, 10th on the beam and 12th in the floor exercise. Tinsley was sixth on the bars, eighth in the vault, 17th in the floor exercise and 18th on the beam.
