Bonney Lake High girls swim coach Ruth Conrad took a few minutes Thursday to honor her senior swimmers before they jumped back into the pool to face league-rival Enumclaw.
Despite a number of second- and third-place performances, the Hornets overpowered the Panthers 140-35.
Panther highlights included Katie Koens’ second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2 minutes, 39.68 seconds and Hanna Anderson second in the 200 individual medley in 2:50.03.
The Panthers also got third-place finishes from the 200 medley relay team of Jessica Roller, Taylor Evans, Ashley Karboski and Lexi Richardson; Koens in the 500 freestyle; the 200 freestyle relay of Janae Charbonneau, Richardson, Emily Romano and Tosha Vance; Ali Ehle in the 100 backstroke; and the 400 freestyle relay of Charbonneau, Taylor Eaton, Romano and Koens.
