The Enumclaw High 200-yard medley relay will be at February’s Class 3A boys state swim meet.
Travis Culp, Thomas Petersen, Bennon VanHoof and Will Cooper raced to a first-place finish Thursday in the Hornets’ 110-77 league win over Decatur. Their winning time of 1 minute, 44.81 seconds, not only assured them of a lane at state, but was just shy of the EHS school record.
Thomas Petersen also picked up a pair of wins for the Hornets, taking the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Cooper won the 100 butterfly. Zach Petersen captured first in the 100 freestyle. VanHoof raced to the win in the 100 breaststroke and the foursome of the Petersens, Cooper and VanHoof won the 400 freestyle relay.
In diving, David Kingman edged teammate Jesse Skipper, 179.75 to 160.2, for first.
Enumclaw and White River, which trains and competes with EHS, travel to Sumner Thursday to face the Spartans. The meet will be a nonleague contest for EHS, but counts for WRHS.
