The Sumner High baseball team defeated Orting 10-4 Friday afternoon.

The Spartans took two runs in the second inning, four in the third, three in the fourth and one in the sixth. The Orting Cardinals took two runs in the fifth and two in the seventh.

Gage Whitehead, finishing with 2-RBI, went to bat three times and connected with the ball twice. He ran to home plate once himself.

Tysen Fischlin, 2-RBI, went to bat four times and connected twice.

Bryan Adkins, 1-RBI, went to bat twice, connected twice and ran to home plate once.

On the mound, Christian Parson pitched six innings and struck out the Cardinals 11 times.
