It was a big weekend for the Valley Wolfpack organization. The Valley cheerleaders went to the Cascade Junior Football League cheer competition as the reigning champions and took home the hardware once again, taking first place during Saturday’s competition.
The Valley Wolfpack 89ers held on to defeat the Puyallup Rough Riders in the CJFL league championship. The Wolfpack jumped to an early 14-0 lead in the first half behind a dominant running game. Puyallup made some adjustments to shut down the Wolfpack’s’ running game in the second half and started an aerial attack of their own to put 12 points on the board. With the game on the line, the 89ers rose to the challenge with a big defensive stop with only seconds remaining on the clock.
The Valley Wolfpack 89ers finished their season with a 9-1 record.
The Wolfpack Midgets won the league championships over the Maple Valley Raiders, taking home the trophy with a score of 19-12.
Both the Wolfpack SweetPeas and Bantams fell short. The SweetPeas lost 24-0 and the Bantams fell 36-12.
