Ki Haku Judo Club of Enumclaw knocked off some summer rust, competing at the annual Rainier Cup Saturday in Tacoma. After a long summer, this was the first tournament of the fall season.

Seagan McKibben finished fourth in the boys 7-year-old division. Malae Willis was third in the boys 8-year-old division.

In the girls 10-year-old division, Jaiden Matteson finished second. Logan Thomas also earned a second-place finish, while Logan Evans placed fourth in the boys 9- to 10-year-old division.

One of the toughest division of the day was women 15 to 16 years old, where Kyrstin Schlager finished fifth.

Jade Patterson claimed third in the women’s brown/black belt division.

Ki Haku Judo Club will travel to Burlington Saturday.

WOLVERINE FOOTBALL

The mud pit proved to be to the scene of some great action when the Enumclaw Wolverines took on the Sumner Wolfpack Sunday.

The Wolverine Pee Wees won in overtime 14-8. Quentin Boggan made the first touchdown. A safety in the third quarter tied the game 8-8 and the contest was decided in overtime by a touchdown by Tristan Knaus.

The Wolverine Midgets battled hard but fell to the Wolfpack. Great tackles were made by Andrew Northam behind the line of scrimmage and Bryce Johnson also had a tackle in the backfield for a loss of five yards. A screen pass was thrown by Jordan Misensol to Austin Gregg, who then ran in the 64 yard touchdown.

In the 89er game, the Wolverines lost to Sumner 0- 20.

The Wolverine Sweet Peas also fell to Sumner. The touchdown was made by Deonte Bruner and the point after was made by Josh Tomt.

The Wolverine Bantams finished off the day with a big win, 18-0. Touchdowns were scored by Jordan Johnson and Mitchell Lockhart.

ENUMCLAW JUNIOR HORNET FOOTBALL

The fourth-grade Junior Hornets team started Saturday battling the second-place Spanaway Spartans. They forced a safety right before the end of the first half making the score 8-2. Spanaway answered immediately with a long touchdown run, taking the wind out of the Junior Hornets’ sails. The second half was all Spanaway, leaving the fourth-grade team on the short end of the stick 28-2.

The fifth-grade team posted their fifth defensive shutout of the season taking the lumber to the Spanaway Spartans 28-0 in a muddy duel at Pete’s Pool. Led by Austin Rewoldt and a veteran offensive line, the team received a touchdown each for Braden Scott, Quinton Scott, Mason Fend and Bear Kuro.

The sixth-grade team continued riding the wave of recent stellar play by slamming the Spartans 27-0. Jake Treece had an outstanding day, rushing for moe than 100 yards and two touchdowns, while Kidder McKee added two touchdowns of his own.

The seventh-grade team granted huge playing time for all boys on the roster, as they hammered the Spartans 38-0. Dylan Miller, Bill Miller and Scotty Garvin all scored touchdowns and Connor Pierce found the end zone twice. Tyler Harris was a beast on defense and contributed 15 unassisted tackles.

The eighth-grade team posted their second win of the season, dominating their opponent 42-0. Seven different players contributed touchdowns including Jordan Phillips who returned a kickoff 75 yards for a score.
