Sumner received votes and was placed at No. 9 on the Seattle Times High School Girls Basketball Class 3A rankings Jan. 11.

The Spartans are 8-2 and one place ahead of Lakes (7-3).

White River (8-1) is ranked No. 6.

Bonney Lake, who was ranked in the Top 10 last week, dropped out of the ranking.

Bonney Lake and Sumner will play each other Jan. 15 at Sumner.
