The Sumner Spartans beat Peninsula 4-1 in South Puget Sound League 3A tennis action Friday to cap a 3-0 week.
Julia Charuhas won her singles match 6-4, 6-4, while Brittany Fulton fell 6-0, 6-1.
In doubles’ action, Erinn Carlson and Lyndsey Plute lost their first set 6-4, but rallied back to win the last two sets 6-0 and 7-6, to record the win.
Reanne Charuhas and Brittany Skirm won 6-3, 6-4, and the Spartans picked swept the third match as Trish Mayer and Taylor Henken won 6-0, 6-2.
Sumner posted a pair of shutouts last week against Clover Park and Lakes in back-to-back outings. The Spartans posted a 5-0 win over Lakes April 29.
In the win, Fulton posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory, while Julia Charuhas won her match, 6-0, 6-2, in singles play.
In doubles action, Carlson and Plute recorded a 6-1, 6-3 win. Charuhas and Skirm won 6-0, 6-1, and the Spartans won the final match 6-2, 6-0.
Against Clover Park, Fulton dominated her opponent for a 6-0, 6-0 win, while Charuhas won 3-0 before her opponent went down with an injury.
Taylor and Charuhas won by identical 6-1 scored in their doubles match, while Carlson and Plute won, 6-0, 6-0 and Hilburn and Skirm posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
Sumner closes out league play at home against Bonney Lake on Thursday.
