The 2A state qualifying tournament was on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton.

White River, Washington, Sumner, Steilacoom, Orting, Franklin Pierce, Fife and Clover Park played against each other.

The Sumner boys finished in first place and advanced six players. Riley Bruil, Matthew Stevens and Connor Smith automatically advanced to the state tournament scheduled for May 28 and 29. Johnny Staley, Alec Esterbrook and Cole Rommel advanced to the spring qualifier tournament. That will give them one more chance to qualify for state.

Spartan girls came in second place and advanced four players. Tianna Munroe automatically advanced and Samantha Walsh, Claire Selmer and Samantha Ward advanced to the qualifying tournament.
