SWIMMING: Anderson, Powers-Hubbard, Parks and Rigby qualify for Districts on Spartans’ first meet

Sumner High School's boys swim and dive team defeated Clover Park 103-78 in the first home meet of the season Dec. 1. The team got an early jump on winter, with four swimmers' times qualifying for district competition.

Sumner High School’s boys swim and dive team defeated Clover Park 103-78 in the first home meet of the season Dec. 1.  The team got an early jump on winter, with four swimmers’ times qualifying for district competition.

The 200-yard Medley Relay team of Severn Anderson, Sam Parks, Connor Powers-Hubbard and Sam Rigsby qualified with a time of 2 minutes and 00.33 seconds. The same team of four qualified in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:46.97.

Anderson, Parks and Powers-Hubbard each qualified in individual events as well.

Anderson qualified and took first place in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:39.27. He qualified and took second in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:13.17.

Powers-Hubbard took first place in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:07.03. He qualified and took second in the 50 Freestyle with 23.97.

Sam Parks qualified and took first in the 100 Butterfly with 1:06.99.

Spartans took the top three spots in the 1 Meter 6 Dives. David Kakuk took first with a score of 103.60, Bryce Corrigan took second with 97.80 and Austin Page took third with 75.20.

Devin Drobny took first place in the 100 Freestyle with 1:06.99.

Rigsby took second in the 500 Freestyle with 6:40.75.
