Several Plateau area athletes were big winners at the Big Sky Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Pocatello, Idaho.

Sumner High graduate Katrina Drennen was the top finisher winning the women’s 3,000-meter run and the women’s distance medley relay. The University of Montana senior was also second in the women’s mile.

Bonney Lake graduate Veronica Stinnett, a freshman for Sacramento State University, picked up two fifth-place finishes; the first in the women’s 800-meter run and the second as part of the women’s distance medley relay.

Enumclaw High graduate Carissa Gwerder, a freshman walk-on at Northern Arizona University, finished sixth with the distance medley relay team and was eighth in the women’s mile.

Also on the women’s side, White River High graduate Carley McCutcheon, a freshman at Montana State, placed ninth in the women’s pentathlon.

For the men, White River High graduates and freshmen brothers, Colin and Kramer Green, each raced legs of the Eastern Washington University’s fourth-place men’s 4×400 relay team.
