Track and field athletes from Enumclaw and White River high schools made the trek north to French Field Saturday, competing in the Kent-Meridian Invitational.
In the team standings, White River’s boys placed fourth overall and the girls were ninth. Enumclaw High’s boys finished 11th and the EHS girls were 14th.
White River boys
Kramer Green again proved he’s one of the region’s top hurdlers, taking first place in the 300-meter race with a time of 40.32 seconds. He combined with Collin Green, Mat Dickson and Marcus Dickson for a first-place showing in the 1,600-meter relay; the four clocked a time of 3:25.73.
Other top 10 finishes for the White River boys were turned in by Collin Green, second at 400 meters and ninth in the 200; Mat Dickson, third in the 800 meters; Austin Shirey, third in the pole vault; Blake Halvorson, fourth in the high jump; Marcus Dickson, fourth at 1,600 meters; Kody Gould, fifth at 3,200 meters; Aaron Toman, fifth in the pole vault; Michael Madden, seventh in the 300 hurdles; Caleb Murphy, ninth in the shot put; and the 800-meter relay team, ninth place.
White River girls
Alysa Aasheim topped the field in the javelin with a throw of 106 feet, 4 inches.
Carley McCutchen had a pair of fine finishes on the day, placing second in the 300-meter hurdles and fourth in the high jump. Antoinette Scholes placed third in the discus; the 800-meter relay team was sixth; Jessica Lindner was seventh in the 100 meters; and Lauryn Wate ran to a pair of top 10 finishes, claiming seventh in the 800 meters and ninth in the 1,600.
Enumclaw boys
The team’s best performance of the day was turned in by Braden Timpe, who finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.77.
Others faring well for the Hornet boys were David Brazier, who was sixth in the long jump; Trulan Rockwood, seventh in thelong jump and eighth in the triple jump; Jordan Grant, seventh in the discus; Branden Russell, ninth in the 800; Matt Wasisco, 10th in the pole vault; and Zach Mason, 10th in the 200 meters. In addition, EHS had three relay teams in the top 10: the 800-meter crew was fifth, the 1,600-meter team was sixth and the 400-meter team was 10th.
Enumclaw girls
Stephanie Schreiner had a pair of top 10 finishes in the sprints, placing second in the 200 meters with a time of 26.42 seconds and ninth in the 100, 13.23.
Others cracking the top 10 were AnnaMarie Forza, third in the javelin; the 3,200-meter relay team that placed fourth, Melissa Gonzales, eighth in the 3,200 meters; the 400-meter relay team that finished eighth; and Angela Lindsey, 10th n the 400 meters.
