The White River High girls brought a third-place trophy home from the Class 2A state soccer championships.

The semifinals and title contest were played Nov. 17 and 18, respectively, at Shoreline Stadium.

The Hornets took a perfect record in the semis, squaring off against Columbia River. Playing at a disadvantage due to one Hornet disqualified (red card) and another injured, White River fell 1-0. The following day, playing for third and fourth, White River registered a 3-2 decision over West Valley-Spokane.

The Hornets went 15-0 during the regular season and added a pair of district victories before going 3-1 in the state tournament, winding up with a 20-1 season record.
