The White River High girls opened postseason basketball play on a high note Thursday evening, blasting Lindbergh High 60-29.
The game, played at Lakes High School, saw the Hornets race to an insurmountable lead during the opening quarters. White River was on top 24-4 after eight minutes of play and took a 38-12 advantage into halftime.
Senior Kennedy Hobert, who finished the regular season as the South Puget Sound League 2A’s leading scorer, took game-high honors with 28 points. Joining her in double figures were Amanda Lance, who scored 12, and Kristin Sturdivan, who added 10.
With the win, White River advances to play at 8 p.m. Saturday at Clover Park High School. The Hornets will play the winner of a first-round game between Washington High and Foster.
