White River High’s Marcus Dickson and Devin Liebel trekked to California for the weekend’s Arcadia Invitational.
Dickson was a main attraction in the mile race. At Arcadia he was near his top speed, finishing in 4:09.41. That was good for second place behind Utah’s Brad Nye, who finished at 4:08.80.
Liebel participated in the 300-meter hurdles and had a rough time. He fell over the third hurdle and was disqualified for interfering with the runner in an adjacent lane. He got up and finished the race in 42.86 seconds.
The White River track and field crew will host a home meet Thursday, taking on Eatonville and Franklin Pierce. Saturday brings the annual trip for the Pasco Invitational.
