Who’s Your Next Ex prevailed in a furious three-horse finish Saturday in the $11,100 Coca-Cola Purse for 3-year-olds and up at Emerald Downs.

Who’s Your Next Ex finished a head in front of an onrushing Mr. Mad Max, with Immigration a neck back in third place.

Ridden by Joe Crispin, Who’s Your Next Ex*the longest shot on the board*ran 6-½ furlongs in 1:15.79 on a fast track and paid $21, $9.20 and $5.40. Charles Essex is the trainer for owners Tad Stillwell, Dennis Trenkenschuh and Moon Glow Farms.

Mr. Mad Max, ridden by Debbie Hoonan, rallied from last to finish second and just missed the victory. A triple winner at Emerald Downs last year, Mr. Mad Max was making his first start since closing day last September, and paid $7.60 and $4.40.

Immigration, ridden by Jennifer Whitaker, paid $4.20 for show. The hard-luck 8-year-old gelding has earned nearly $200,000 in a 54-race career that includes 16 seconds and nine thirds.

Win Photos Will Do, Jiddaw and Outa Crown completed the order of finish.

Outa Crown, the even-money favorite, and Jiddaw, the second choice at 5-to-2, both faded after dueling through fractions of :22.11 and :44.45.

Who’s Your Next Ex stalked the early leaders, pounced to the lead into the stretch and held off the two closers for his seventh win in 24 career starts. A 6-year-old Washington-bred by Harbor the Gold, Who’s Your Next Ex earned $6,105 to increase his bankroll to $75,277.
