The White River High soccer team improved to 2-2 for the season with an 8-0 pasting at Clover Park Thursday night.

The White River High soccer team improved to 2-2 for the season with an 8-0 pasting at Clover Park Thursday night. The victory moved the Hornets to 1-1 in South Puget Sound League 2A play.

White River was dominant from the outset, jumping to a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes, thanks to a pair of goals by Morgan Brown.

Six others shared scoring honors. Jillian Keane, Cassidy France, Payton Bushaw and Chloe Sharp added first-half goals to give the Hornets a commanding halftime lead, and Ashley Powell and Morgan Clough scored early in the second half.

Coach Charlie Carlier tinkered with his lineup during the easy win, putting Powell and France in goal.

The Hornets had opened league play Sept. 14 with a tough, 1-0 loss at Sumner. The Spartans’ Kaylie Rozell scored in the 75th minute to provide the only goal at Sunset Chev Stadium.
