The White River Hornets improved to 7-3 in the South Puget Sound League 2A soccer standings with two victories last week.
Enjoying home-field advantage for both contests, the Hornets defeated Steilacoom 3-0 Friday night after blasting the winless Clover Park Warriors 6-1 April 12.
Friday’s victory was highlighted by a pair of first-half goals by Zac Morris and a final tally midway through the second period by Zach Welch. The three-goal offense was backed by the shutout goal keeping of Trent Rohm.
Against Clover Park, the Hornets wasted little time establishing their dominance, going on top just a moment into the game on a goal by Morris. Johnny Anaya scored not too much later and Ben Angelsino added a pair of goals to put White River up 4-1 at halftime.
Second-half goals were provided by Josh Kirk and Seth Dedge.
