This fall, 10 students from around the nation are coming together to share their solutions for problems they’ve encountered. One of these scientists is Sumner student Amelia Day.

Late yesterday in Pierce County Superior Court Mazzar Robinson, 41, was found guilty of murder in the first degree, conspiracy to commit murder, burglary, attempted robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm. Co-defendant Michael Rowland, 32, was found guilty of murder in the first degree, burglary and attempted robbery.

Officers pulled over a car on July 20 for using powerful yellow headlights. The driver told officers the car was registered to his grandmother and he did not have his license with him. Officers attempted to run the name and date of birth the driver gave them through the system but the information that appeared did not match the driver.

Officers were called on July 5 to a vehicle collision. Officers arrived on the scene and learned a dirt bike had collided with two parked cars. The rider of the bike was being treated by East Pierce Fire and Rescue.
