The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is severely understaffed according to a recently published study. The study found that the sheriff’s department needs between 72-82 new employees throughout the department to ensure safety among the community.

Consumer firework sales across the state will begin at noon on Tuesday, June 28 and continue until 9:00 p.m. on July 5. State Fire Marshal Charles M. Duffy reminds residents to “know the laws before purchasing and discharging fireworks,” and “only purchase legal fireworks.” This year 867 retail fireworks stand licenses were issued.

Last Friday Milton Cletus Fabre, 81, pled guilty to Manslaughter in the First Degree for the stabbing death of his adult daughter, Tamara Fabre, on New Year’s Eve 2015. He was sentenced to 102 months in prison.
An officer on routine patrol saw a female at a Safeway who he recognized from a previous encounter.
On June 17 there was a report to police about damage to a vehicle. The female said the window of her son’s car had been broken out. The car was parked in the residence driveway. There was a small hole in the window that was consistent with a small pellet or BB gun
On June 8, an officer was dispatched to a Target because of a complaint. The female caller said she saw a male subject behind the building and was told to call the police if he was seen because he has several outstanding warrants for his arrest.
