The Bonney Lake City Council passed Ordinance 1546 during the May 24 meeting, which changes the time the city council will meet on Tuesdays.
An undercover prostitution sting conducted last night in Pierce County led to the arrests of 6 men and 13 women. In this multi-agency operation, led by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, undercover officers posed as “johns,” and set up “dates” with prostitutes through multiple websites.

Cyclists from all over the Puget Sound will take part in the 26th annual Tour de Pierce on Sunday, June 26. The bike ride to promote fitness, fun, and safety, includes 30- and 50-mile marked routes, plus a 12-mile route designed for families or for those new to biking.

Citing reduced revenues and increased operational costs, the city of Buckley decided to transfer management of the city cemetery to a private enterprise.
During their meeting of April 26, members of the Buckley City Council voted to transfer the management, operation and maintenance of the cemetery to Weeks Funeral Homes.

East Pierce Fire and Rescue welcomed National Emergency Medical Services Week by giving its annual report on the EMS division of the department. Assistant Chief Russ McCallion presented the report to the department’s commissioners during their regularly scheduled meeting on May 17.
