It’s still many years before Sumner High School senior Hashwinder Singh could be elected to represent his state in Washington D.C., but his trip to the nation’s capitol last March has certainly taken him a step or two closer.
On April 26 officers ran a check on a parked car, revealing its registration expired at the end of 2014. Officers contacted the driver after he got back into his vehicle and drove away. By the way the driver was reacting to the stop, officers were concerned he was going to drive away, so officers asked the man to step out of the car.
Officers were called to a local phone shop regarding suspicious circumstances. The reporting party told officers as two males walked into the store, she received a call from another Tacoma phone store that several cell phones were stolen, and the description of the males matched those who just walked in.
Officers were called April 22 to a suspicious device found in a Goodwill donation bin. Officers determined the device could be explosive and called the Pierce County bomb squad.
An off-duty King County sheriff called officers April 17 after a male subject punched their car and left the scene on a motorcycle. The off-duty sheriff told officers that two men on motorcycles flipped him and his wife off when they entered the parking lot.
Officers were called April 15 to a report of a suspicious person. The reporting party told officers a strange male knocked on his front door and attempted to open the door.
Better Business Bureau is reminding consumers to be cautious when hiring a moving company or they could end up with a business that can’t deliver. Consumers who inadvertently hire an unlicensed company usually have little or no recourse if their belongings are damaged, lost or stolen.
