Want to get rid of your unwanted or unneeded prescription drugs? The Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take-back Day is tomorrow, April 30. Sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for people to bring excess prescription drugs that otherwise could be abused or contaminate the environment.

Starting at 10 p.m. Friday, April 29, crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close the westbound 15th Street Southwest loop on-ramp to southbound SR 167 around the clock. The on-ramp will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, May 2.
“Students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” These words were my mantra over the last seven of my 31 years teaching high school social studies at Sumner. I know a lot about many fields because of my constant reading and thinking, but that isn’t enough to have an impact upon cynical and suspicious high school students who won’t listen or cooperate if they don’t like you.
