The Bonney Lake Pantherettes once again brought their magic to the state drill competition, coming away with a state championship title in the show category. The Panthettes faced down Lakes, Woodland and Sumner high schools, scoring an exceptional 260.90 points during the March 26 competition. The team was sent to state after placing first in the show category at districts. They also placed second in the military category.

Officers responded to a business alarm at a Bonney Lake tattoo shop on April 5. Officers observed the front glass door was shattered, as well as the door to a neighboring business, and there was blood on the glass.
Officers were called April 4 to a report of an escaped shoplifter. Loss prevention gave officers a purse containing the ID of the female shoplifter. Officers were advised loss prevention attempted to detain the woman but she ran out, dropping her purse.
Officers were called on April 4 to a report of found drugs. The reporting party told officers they found a small bag of meth left in a shopping basket. Video surveillance was not able to confirm an owner.
Officers observed a male riding a bike near SR 410 without a helmet or rear light. Officers stopped the biker and a record check revealed several misdemeanor warrants out of Bonney Lake and Buckley and a felony warrant out of Sumner.
Officers were dispatched to a local restaurant March 31 to a report of child abuse. The reporting party told officers a woman had shaken the car seat her child was sitting in at the table while the child cried.
Officers pulled over a car going over the speed limit on March 18. The male driver told officers they did not know how fast they were going. A record check revealed he had a suspended license.
The City of Bonney Lake Planning Commission meeting regularly scheduled for April 20, 2016 has been cancelled.
