Pierce County Library is creating a roadmap to guide us through the years ahead. We’re on track to roll out a strategic plan this summer. Since I started working for Sound Publishing I have had to make the trek from Kent to Covington each morning, I have seen at least one reckless driver every single day. It’s come to the point where I am a little nervous driving to work. The main reasons I have noticed why drivers are being so reckless is because they are in a hurry (speeding and weaving in and out of traffic) or distracted (texting, talking, fidgeting with their radios).

On Monday night, the City Council took a field trip, touring our Wastewater Treatment Facility. While maybe not on the hot list of tour sites, it’s vital part of a clean community and a growing region.
Last week Dwayne Patrick Cowart, 32, was sentenced to 840 months in prison for beating his 2-month-old daughter to death in 2014 at his home in DuPont. In December, a jury convicted Cowart of murder in the second degree.
